Draw a sketch of the cushions and select all dimensions. Measure long couch pillows and determine the amount of fabric you need. Use the upholstery material for durable pillows. Cut the fabric to the contours of the cushion foam, leaving a margin of 2 to 3 inches on each side.
Follow the outside of the foam on the inside of the fabric to create a pattern. Ensure that the upper and lower curves match; they must line up when sewing them together. Trace the side panels of the pad. If you’re long couch pillows is thin and does not have side panels, trace out the top and bottom.
Using the sewing machine, install the zipper only in the area that will be on the back of the pillow. Next, sew the side panels on the base panel, and then sew the top panel to the side panels. You will sew the entire pad from the inside of the fabric, the pattern line exactly. If your long couch pillows do not have side panels, sew along the sides and top, leaving the bottom open. Turn the pillowcase inside out and put foam inside. Close the zipper and sew up the bottom. Spray on fabric protection if desired. Your new bag is ready to go on the couch.
