Massage pillow – When your back bothers you after a long day of standing or when your neck tightens after working on your computer all day, a therapy with a heat massage pillow may be just what you need. With a few simple materials, you can make your own pillow for heat therapies that can relieve pain better than a thermal pad.

Cut and sew the fabric into the desired size and shape for your massage pillow. A sock works great for a neck pillow, for example. It may be small so you can carry it with you while traveling or larger so you can cover a spot on your back. Small 4 by 4 inch (10 by 10 cm) pillows are excellent warmers for hands or boots. Leave a small opening of one inch or two (2.5 or 5 cm) on the pillow so you can fill it easily.
Sterilize the chosen filling by heating it in the microwave on high level for two minutes before filling your bag. Rice, small grains, barley, wheat and corn work well. Be sure to allow it to cool well before filling. Fill the bag with the desired filling. Do not fill your pillow much. You will want the filling to be a little loose inside the pillow so that it can be molded easily to your needs (around your neck, for example). Add any desired grass to the fill at this time. Sew the opening after filling your the massage pillow.
