A basic pillowcase pattern can serve as a basis for any purple decorative pillows design. To make a pillow cover, cut two pieces of decorative fabric ½ inch wider and half an inch longer than your foam pillow form. Place the right side of the fabric together and pin. The right sides of the fabric are the pages you will see when the cushion cover is finished. Pin with straight legs, placing them perpendicular to the unfinished edge of the fabric about 3 inches apart.
To make purple decorative pillows, measure the circumference of your pillow. Cut a strip of the same or a contrasting fabric twice as long as the circumference plus 1-1 / 4 inches and then twice as wide as will look right on a pillow covers that size, you do. A 12-inch square pillow, for example, could have a 1-1 / 2-inch wide ruffle, so you would cut the length of the fabric 3 inches long and add 1-1 / 4 inches for seam allowance. Sew the ends of the fabric together with the rights sides facing. Unfold the fabric in half lengthwise, with the right side of the fabric outward.
