A single sconce can be very dramatic and allows light to an area that does not allow for a ceiling light or a floor lamp. It is much easier to install a sconce on a ceiling that already has wires in it, so if you are building a new home, you should plan ahead and get your electrician put in the right lines. Consider adding an attenuation feature of ceiling switches to create a dramatic look or a romantic look.
