Barn roofs – This former barn located in a hamlet in Saarbrucken, Germany, urgently needed a renovation. Both its roof and its walls were completely deteriorated, bordering on ruin. But the owners, who live in the adjacent building, did not need this construction to expand their home, so they decided to clean it up and turn it into a beautiful terrace to spend free time and vacation days.
In the process of reform, most of the deck was demolished, since it was not worth keeping most of its elements. But the form of gable cover has remained. It was an indispensable requirement in the project. Now the deck is a reinterpretation of the old barn roofs, built by means of a metallic structure that serves as a fixation for the awning of the roof.
What do you think? So elegant is how the new construction is seen from the road. From here we see, not only the new plant converted into a terrace with the false gable barn roofs, but also walls that have been restored and painted in light tones, as well as the dwelling of the owners. Thus, although the two buildings are separated, visually they form a set.
